Roselle Democratic Chairman and Councilman Reginald Atkins called for Mayor Christine Dansereau to resign from her seat on the town’s municipal committee because the latter moved out of the district she represents on the committee.
“No one is above the law and we all need to abide by the rules and statutes that govern our Democratic Party and our society, and Mayor Dansereau is no exception,” Atkins said. “As Chairman of the Roselle Democratic Committee, I’m calling on her to vacate this seat immediately so that a new member can be appointed to represent the district and ensure we continue to have a full complement of committee members.”
Remaining in the seat would be a violation of municipal committee’s bylaws, as well as those of the Union County Democratic Committee, Atkins said.

Not to mention Title 19 of NJSA. When she moved out of the polling district, the seat was vacated. The rub is documenting it. That is why a notarized resignation is protocol. Otherwise, proof by a new voter registration and an application by the Chairman to the County Clerk.
