Seth Grossman attacked State Sen. Jeff Van Drew for his opposition to U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Friday.
“The ‘new Jeff Van Drew’ is now coming out,” Grossman said. “He has given the false impression that he is a reasonable, reach-across-the-aisle legislator in the state senate for the last 16 years, but he really has been nothing but an obedient tow-the-party-line Democrat destroying the state’s economy. His opposition to Judge Kavanaugh is just more concrete evidence proving that he is 100% for the radical left agenda of obstructing President Trump and resisting and disrupting and attacking in every way.”
Van Drew told the New jersey Globe earlier this week that he would not vote for the candidate were he in the senate because of the nominee’s testimony last Thursday, which Van Drew thought was too partisan for a prospective Supreme Court Justice.
In Grossman’s eyes, Kavanaugh’s outburst was reasonable given the publication of sexual assault allegations made against him.
“This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit, fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups,” Kavanaugh said in prepared remarks last Thursday.
