Sonia Delgado, a prominent lobbyist and former Senate Democratic staffer, has been named to an ad hoc committee formed by Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg to review instances of misogyny and sexual harassment in New Jersey politics.

Delgado was one of four names suggested last week by Latinas United for Political Empowerment PAC.

Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver has submitted seventeen names to Weinberg of individuals Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration wants to be on the panel, including herself and First Lady Tammy Murphy.

It’s not immediately clear whether Weinberg will accept any of the Murphy administration’s recommendations.

Already serving on the Weinberg committee: veteran lobbyist Jeannine LaRue; political consultant Julie Roginsky; and Patricia Teffenhart, executive director of the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

Delgado is a former UMDNJ chairperson and member of the Legislative Apportionment Commission.
