State Sen. Dawn Addiego (D-Evesham) will keep her seat on the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and will serve on the Senate Transportation Committee, Senate President Steve Sweeney announced today.
Addiego announced last week that she was joining the Democratic Party after 25 years as a Republican officeholder in Burlington County.
The Burlington County Times first reported that Addiego will keep her influential budget panel seat.
“Senator Addiego has been a strong and forceful advocate on transportation issues, which are so critical to the state’s economy and our quality of life,” said Sweeney. “She has also demonstrated informed leadership on fiscal and economic policies that are so vital at this time. Her continued service on the budget committee will be a real benefit to the Senate and the State of New Jersey.”
