Assemblywoman Britnee Timberlake was be elected to fill out the remainder her term.
The former Essex County freeholder beat out Republican candidate Irene Devita by 86 points, 92%-6% in the deeply-blue 34th legislative district.
The Assemblywoman got 33,024 votes to Devita’s 2,159.
Independent Clenard Childress 578, or roughly 2%.
Timberlake was appointed to her seat earlier this year by the district’s Democratic Committee to fill Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver’s seat.
