Steinhardt applauds legislative probe

Republican State Chairman Doug Steinhardt praised Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin for creating a bi-partisan legislative committee to investigate the hiring of Al Alvarez.

“Katie Brennan deserves to know why the Murphy Administration hired a known predator and kept him on staff until they were caught by the media,” said Steinhardt, who was one of the first to call for legislative hearings last week. “I applaud Senate President Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Coughlin for heeding the Republican call to put politics aside and ask responsible questions. I look forward to both parties working together to conduct a thorough and meaningful review. This should never happen again.”
