The deadline to file nominating petitions for June Demcoratic and Republican primaries is today.

Petitions are due by 4 PM this afternoon.

Legislative candidates file with the New Jersey Secretary of State.

Two State Senate candidates — incumbent Robert Andrzejczak (D-Middle) and Cumberland County GOP chairman Michael Testa, Jr. — have filed in the 1st district special election to fill the remainder of Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s term.  This is the only State Senate race of 2019.

So far, 123 candidates — 77 Democrats and 46 Republicans — have filed for State Assembly.  All 80 State Assembly seats are up in November.

The premier primary is in the 8th district, where two-term Assemblyman Joe Howarth (R-Evesham) has lost party support for re-election.  Incumbent Ryan Peters (R-Hainesport) is seeking a second term on a ticket with Burlington County sheriff Jean Stanfield.

Candidates for county office file  with the county clerk, and municipal candidates with the municipal clerk.
