Freshman Assemblyman Bill Moen (D-Camden) has been assigned to three committees: Commerce and Economic Development, Transportation and Independent Authorities, and State and Local Government.
Assembly committee assignments are made by Speaker Craig Coughlin.
Moen won the open 5th district Assembly seat vacated with the retirement of Patricia Egan Jones (D-Barrington). He resigned from the Camden County Board of Freeholders to run for the Assembly.
He also left his post as South Jersey State Director for U.S. Senator Cory Booker, since the State Constitution bars legislators from holding federal government jobs. Booker has not yet announced a replacement for Moen.
Moen was the only freshman Democrat to be sworn into the Assembly earlier this week.
