Elizabeth Meyers, a constant presence in the 14th legislative district for more than fifteen years, is leaving her position as chief of staff to Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo (D-Hamilton).

Meyers began her political career in Middlesex County as an aide to Assemblywoman Arline Friscia (D-Woodbridge).  After a short stint at the MWW public affairs firm, she became communications director for Assemblywoman Barbara Buono (D-Metuchen) and Assemblyman Peter Barnes, Jr. (D-Edison).

In 2003, she went to the 14th as press secretary for former state Personnel commissioner Skip Cimino, who was challenging four-term Republican State Sen. Peter Inverso (R-Hamilton), and for Assembly incumbents Linda Greenstein (D-Plainsboro) and Gary Guear (D-Hamilton).

Meyers moved over to the Assembly Democratic communications ship in 2002 and then returned to the 14th for the 2007 campaign.  She worked at two lobbying firms before coming back to become DeAngelo’s chief of staff nine years ago.
