Democratic incumbents in the 16th district feel good about their chances at re-election, but they aren’t getting complacent.
“I feel good. We are knocking on doors like crazy,” assemblyman Andrew Zwicker said. “We sent 30 volunteer shifts out today. We’ve got 100 planned for tomorrow. We’re knocking on every door. We’re doing everything we possibly can”
Zwicker and his running mate, Assemblyman Roy Freiman, face challenges from former Somerset County Freeholder Mark Caliguire and former Montgomery Mayor Christine Madrid.
Zwicker said he and Freiman would continue to focus their efforts on door-knocking ahead of Tuesday.
The district’s seats number among the few in play this year.
“We were in a very fortunate situation with a lot of coordinated supporters behind us, so we feel positive,” Freiman said. “We’re not stopping. We’re working as hard as the dickens, and we’re going to continue to work right until the polls close.”
