The New Jersey Globe is projecting that Democratic incumbents Tom Giblin and Britnee Timberlake have re-elected to the New Jersey State Assembly in the 34th district.
The Republicans candidates are Irene DeVita and Bharat Rana.
Independent. Clenard Childress, Jr., a conservative minister, has lost his eighth run for the Assembly.
Giblin began a career in the legislature in 2005 after serving as an Essex County Freeholder, Surrogate, Democratic County Chairman and New Jersey Democratic State Chairman. His election came 32 years after he came within 1,079 votes of winning an open Assembly seat in the 1973 Watergate landslide.
Timberlake, a former Essex County Freeholder who won a 2018 special election convention to replace Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver. DeVita won 17% of the vote against Timberlake in that race.
