Alex Bidnik, a controversial journalist who owned the North Jersey Prospector in Clifton and three other local newspapers, died on December 26.  He was 85. Bidnik later served as an aide to Assemblyman Gerald Zecker, a former mayor of Clifton.

William Bonner, a former mayor of Mount Laurel in the 1960s and a Lenape Regional High School Board of Education member in the 1970s, died on December 23.  He was 97.  Bonner was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea.

Theresa Strek
, who spent 50 years as a legal secretary in the Sayreville law officers of Assembly Speaker Alan Karcher and his father, Assemblyman Joseph Karcher, died on December 26.  She was 89.

Ruth Kelly, who served as a Haworth councilwoman in the 1980s, died on December 22.  She was 88.  She served on the Bergen County Women’s Rights Center and served on the Board of Directors of the Mid-Bergen Mental Health Center.

Millie Lombardi, an employee of the Washington Township (Bergen County) Tax Assessor and Tax Collector’s office for 35 years, died on December 22.  She was 89.  Lombardi spent 24 years as a Republican County Committeewoman.

Dorothy Macaluso, who worked for the commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, died on December 25.  She was 79.

William Moore, who served on the Governor’s Council on the Prevention of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, and The New Jersey Advisory Council of Traumatic Brain Injury, died on December 22.  He was 84.

George Schultz, a former Green Bay Gazette reporter and spokesman for several federal agencies, died on December 27.  He was 87.  He is a former West Windsor resident.

Carol Hila, a former Avenel Democratic Club member, died on December 21.

Adelaide Hetrick, a former Gloucester County Board of Elections poll worker, died on December 24.  She was 95.

Harriette Ansbach, a former member of the Frankford Zoning Board, died on December 27.  She was 81.  Ansbach also served on the Frankford Board of Health.
