U.S. Sen. Cory Booker launched a new ad in Iowa Monday.
The 60-second TV spot focuses on Booker’s electoral and legislative victories dating back to his first run for Newark City Council in an effort to sell the presidential candidate’s chances against President Donald Trump.
“When the stakes couldn’t be higher, Cory Booker comes through,” text overlaid onto the ad says as a Booker speech plays. “Against Trump, he will win.”
The six-figure buy, titled “He Will Win,” is airing in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids media markets.
Real Clear Politics has Booker’s polling average in the early primary state at 2.8%, putting the candidate in sixth.
Nationally, the senator’s polling average puts him in eighth place at 2.5%.
A strong performance in Iowa could give Booker’s campaign what it needs to remain in the race, but he isn’t ignoring other early states.
The senator will return to Nevada for two public events Monday. In the morning, he’ll attend a roundtable with Latino leaders in Sparks.
In the afternoon, he’ll host a townhall-style event in Reno with Nevada Assemblywoman Sarah Peters and Councilwoman Jenny Brekhus.
