Jack Ciattarelli’s growing support in Bergen County now includes Republican Chairman Jack Zisa.
“We are excited to support Jack,” Zisa said. “He has experience serving in the New Jersey Assembly, and as a successful businessman. Jack has worked hard to earn the support and trust of Bergen County, and he will win in November, helping to elect our Republican candidates at all levels. We look forward to working with Jack to help him turn around Phil Murphy’s failed state government.”
Zisa’s endorsement follows announcements of support from 24 of the county’s Republican municipal chairs, most of the county’s Republican legislators and dozens more GOP officials.
Bergen GOP vice chair Margaret Frontera and the county’s two state committee members have also endorsed Ciattarelli.
The contest for the Republican nomination changed drastically Monday former GOP State Chairman Doug Steinhardt announced he would exit the race.
Though the former assemblyman still faces perennial candidate Hirsh Singh and businessman Joseph Rudy Rullo, Steinhardt’s withdrawal largely cleared the Republican field, and party leaders across the state have been increasingly public with their support of the Somerset County native.
His other sizeable endorsements in Bergen include former GOP gubernatorial candidate Carlos Rendao who is mayor of Woodcliff Lake, and Bergen County Young Republican Chairwoman Katie Cericola.
