The movement to draft LeRoy Jones for Democratic State Chairman continues to grow, with all seven South Jersey Democratic county chairmen endorsing him if he challenges incumbent John Currie in 2020.
The seven chairs — Michael Suleiman (Atlantic), Joseph Andl (Burlington), James Beach (Camden), Brendan Sciarra (Cape May), Steven Errickson (Cumberland), Fred Madden (Gloucester) and Steve Caltabiano (Salem) – have signed a letter backing Jones, the Essex County Democratic Chairman, if he runs against incumbent John Currie in 2020.
“LeRoy has distinguished himself as a former member of the New Jersey General Assembly and as the leader of the Essex County Democratic Organization — the county with the largest bloc of Democratic voters in the state of New Jersey, where he has amassed significant victories for all of our statewide Democratic contenders,” the seven county chairman said. “He has the vision and can-do spirit to unite our party and expand our Democratic majorities at all levels in the Garden State.”
