Lobbyist Bill Pascrell III will serve as a trustee of a new responsible gambling foundation, the organization announced Thursday.
“As the first Foundation of its kind in the US, we intend to lead the field for responsible gaming, corporate compliance and integrity,” Pascrell said. “This is gaming giving back to its players.”
GVC Holdings announced it was launching a global foundation last month.
On Thursday, it announced it was opening a U.S. foundation. Former New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer and Martin Lycka, director of regulatory affairs at GVC Holding, will join Pascrell on the foundation’s board.
The foundation will manage GVC’s collaboration with Harvard Medical School, the National Council on Problem Gaming and the National Centre for Responsible Gambling on healthy-gambling programs, among other projects.
“We must keep the playing field safe for all players,” Toomer said. “So we’ll team up for top-notch educational bootcamps on gaming best practices, promote responsible gambling, and be there for those facing addiction.”
