A count of vote-by-mail and provisional ballots in Waldwick have given Democrat Nicole McNamara a win in the race for Waldwick Borough Council.

On election day, McNamara trailed Republican Mark Ramundo by seven votes, 1,975 to 1,968.  Republican incumbent Joseph Oravetz had 1,996 votes.

McNamara added 79 VBM and provisional votes, catapulting her to the top slot with 2,247 votes.  Oravetz won the second seat with 2,210 votes — ten more than Ramundo.

Republican Charles Farricker did not seek re-election.

McNamara breaks the all-Republican hold in local government in the northern Bergen County town with a GOP voter registration edge.
