Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s district office is closed and won’t open until Jan. 3.

It’s unclear why the Mays Landing office has temporarily closed its doors.

A spokesman for Van Drew directed questions on the matter to Allison Murphy, the congressman’s chief of staff.

Murphy did not respond to a call and text message made at 12:31 p.m.

At least six of Van Drew congressional staffers have resigned since the congressman’s plan to defect to the Republican party was first reported on Saturday.

It’s not immediately clear whether the resignations and the district office’s temporary closure are related.
