The race for Congress in the third district is too close to call.

First-term Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton) leads former Hill International CEO David Richter by34,864 votes, with 56%, with an unknown number of ballots that won’t be counted until at least tomorrow.

In Burlington County, where initial returns showed Kim up by 54,314 votes, 24% of ballots haven’t been counted and won’t be until Wednesday morning.

Richter leads in Ocean County by 19,450 votes.

It’s not clear how many outstanding votes there are in Ocean County.

Provisional ballots cast on election day won’t be counted until Nov. 11. Those ballots are expected to favor Republicans. Election Boards there will continue to accept mail-in ballots postmarked by election day until Nov. 10.

Voters who sent in deficient ballots can cure them until Nov. 18. Those also aren’t included in the total.
