Assemblywoman-elect Jean Stanfield (R-Westampton) has endorsed Kate Gibbs for Congress in New Jersey’s 3rd district against freshman Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton).
“As Burlington County Sheriff, I got to see firsthand the dedication Kate Gibbs poured into her public service role as Burlington County Freeholder Director,” said Stanfield. “I have absolute confidence in her ability to bring that same passion to the people of the Third District and Washington, DC. “I’ll do whatever I can to support her because I truly believe her integrity and her diligence is exactly what we need.”
Gibbs won the Burlington County Republican organization line in a vote on Saturday, which gives her a significant head start in a GOP primary against Barnegat Township Committeeman John Novack.
Stanfield served as sheriff from 2002 until earlier this year. She will take her Assembly seat in January after defeating incumbent Joe Howarth (R-Evesham) in the Republican primary.
