Senate Minority Leader Thomas Kean, Jr. has endorsed Kate Gibbs for Congress in New Jersey’s 3rd district.
“Kate is a rising star in our party and will be a great Congresswoman for South Jersey. I endorse her and look forward to serving with her in the majority next year,” said Kean, who is challenging Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) in the 7th district.
Gibbs faces a fight for the GOP nomination to take on Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton). She faces David Richter, the former CEO of one of the nation’s largest construction firms. Richter switched districts in January after initially entering the race to run against Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis) prior to Van Drew’s change of party affiliation.
Barnegat mayor John Novak and former Hainesport mayor Tony Porto are also seeking the Republican nomination.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement from Leader Kean. I look forward to working with him in Congress to bring common-sense solutions to the issues facing our Nation,” said Gibbs.
