The transportation division of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers backed Tom Malinowski Thursday.

“The New Jersey State Legislative Board of the SMART Transportation Division voted unanimously to recommend to our members Tom’s election to Congress, based on his support for positions important to SMART TD,” SMART TD State Director Ronald Sabol said. “We wish Tom a successful election and look forward to working with him in the future.”

The endorsement adds to a slate of union backers Malinowski has amassed since winning the Democratic nomination in June. He was previously endorsed by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Services Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 32BJ and the Communications Workers of America.

Rep. Leonard Lance isn’t without union backing of his own. The New Jersey Policemen’s Benevolent Association and the New Jersey Building and Construction Trades Council have endorsed the congressman.
