Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) filed with the Federal Election Commission today to raise money for a re-election campaign.
She designated the House Victory Project and the Serve American Victory Fund as joint fundraising representatives.
Sherrill was elected to the House last year, flipping New Jersey’s 11th district seat for the first time in 34 years.
The retired U.S. Navy helicopter pilot and assistant U.S. Attorney raised over $1.2 million by the end of 2017 — something that likely helped push 12-term incumbent Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-Harding) into retirement.
Sherrill raised over $8.6 million in her first bid for public office.
