Pete Sheridan, the executive director of Integrity NJ, a super PAC backing Bob Hugin, is moonlighting as a spokesman for former Gov. Chris Christie in a federal money laundering investigation.

The Justice Department has accused Malaysian businessman Jho Low of embezzling $4.5 billion from 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday Reported that the probe against Low had expanded to whether Low used those funds to pay a legal team that included Christie.

“Chris Christie, Donald Trump and Bob Hugin are all super rich Republican one-percenters who milk the system for millions of dollars while middle class families struggle to make ends meet and face constantly rising health care and education costs,” Democratic state chair John Currie said.

Editor’s note: A former version of this article referred to Sheridan as an attorney. He is not.
