Pelosi boosts Watson Coleman coffers

Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Ewing) raised over $200,000 for her re-election campaign on Saturday at a fundraiser featuring House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, her campaign said today.

The event will boost Coleman’s campaign cash heading into her campaign for re-election to a fourth term.

She reported raised $61,360 during the 4th quarter of 2019 and had $147,204 cash-on-hand.

This was Pelosi’s second visit to New Jersey since September, when she attended the New Jersey Democratic State Committee annual conference in Atlantic City.  She is due back on February 29 to co-headline a fundraiser for Rep. Donald Norcross (D-Camden) with Gov. Phil Murphy.

“Her temperament, her strength and her resolve make her the perfect leader for these turbulent times and I am proud to stand with her on the frontlines in the fight to put our country back on the right track,” Watson Coleman said.  “We were proud to bring her to New Jersey to speak with so many of the women I’ve been fortunate enough to call friends and allies and I know that her message of standing strong for our Democratic values will continue to resonate as we move towards this critical election in November.”

Mark Razzoli, an Old Bridge councilman who switched parties last year to seek the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 12th district, raised just $43 during the 4th quarter of last year.

He has raised a total of $2,119 for his bid to unseat Watson Coleman.

Razzoli has $1,018 cash-on-hand, and has already accumulated a campaign debt of $5,031.

Watson Coleman was re-elected to her 12th district seat with 69% of the vote in 2018.
