The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has launched a new digital ad campaign accusing freshman Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Rocky Hill) of putting his dislike of President Donald Trump ahead of the needs of his constituents.

“Tom Malinowski has allowed his blind hatred of President Trump to get in the way of why he was sent to Washington and it will cost him his seat in 2020,” said NRCC Spokesman Michael McAdams

The ad follow’s Trump’s announcement that he will seek re-election to as second term next year.

The ad will run on Facebook. The NRCC declined to say how much they are spending on the ad.

Malinowski, who ousted five-term Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton Township) in 2018, is considered one of the top NRCC targets as Republican seek to regain control of the House in 2020.

State Senate Minority Leader Thomas Kean, Jr. (R-Westfield) has already entered the race to challenge Malinowski.

Political newcomer Tom Phillips is also seeking the GOP nomination.

Rosemary Becchi, a former U.S. Senate Finance Committee staffer, has formed an exploratory committee and is considering a challenge to Kean in the Republican primary.
