House candidates Arati Kreibich and Stephanie Schmid aren’t ready to back Gov. Phil Murphy for a second term.
“I think he’s done a really good job, and he’s tried to do a really good job as a progressive, but it’s really darn early,” Kreibich, a Glen Rock councilwoman, said. “I think I’d like to see what’s out there.”
Kreibich is mounting a primary challenge from the left against Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff).
Schmid is running for the Democratic nod to take on Rep. Christopher Smith (R-Hamilton) next year.
“I absolutely haven’t given any thought to that yet,” Schmid said when asked whether she would endorse Murphy’s re-election.
