Union opposes sixth term for Lance

The New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (FMBA) has endorsed Democrat Tom Malinowski for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th district.

“It is not a partisan statement to say that over the past several months we have watched chaos rule Washington, D.C. It is impossible to think that our country can move forward under these current circumstances,” said Eddie Donnelly, the union president.  “We believe that Tom Malinowski is one of those candidates that will use his voice in a constructive way to bring about a change in the tone and tenor that is currently holding us back.”

Donnelly says that Malinowski understands the challenges first responders face.

Malinowski, a former Assistant U.S. Secretary of State, is challenging five-term incumbent Leonard Lance.  Polls show the race within the margin of error.

The union represents 5,000 firefighters, EMT’s and dispatchers statewide.
