Tom Malinowski has won the endorsement of the nation’s largest trade labor union of public employees, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), in his bid to unseat five-term Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton) in New Jersey’s 7th district.
“The public servants who work tirelessly to ensure our federal agencies are up to America’s great standards deserve our gratitude and respect,” said Steve Tully, executive director of AFSCME Council 63. “With his track record of standing up for fairness and human rights, we are proud to entrust Tom Malinowski with our endorsement.”
Malinowski, a former Assistant U.S. Secretary of State in the Obama administration, is in a statistical dead heat with Lance, according to two recent public polls.
