Ron DeFilippis, one of the candidates for Morris County Republican Chairman, has endorsed Assemblyman Jay Webber for the GOP nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th district.
He says he is reacting to an endorsement Passaic County Republican Antony Ghee by John Sette, the former Morris County GOP leader.
“It troubles me, as a Morris County Republican, should Assemblyman Jay Webber not be successful, that it may lead to Morris County losing a resident Congressman. If that were to happen, it would be the first time in decades that Morris County would not have a resident in Congress,” said DeFilippis. “Morris county has historically been one party with one voice. We cannot afford to have our efforts cannibalized against each other. I would hope all Morris County Republicans get behind our candidate so he catapults to victory”
DeFilippis is the Morris County Republican Finance Committee chairman and a former Commissioner of the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission. He lives in Roxbury, which is in Leonard Lance’s district.
