Clean Water Action endorsed Rep. Mikie Sherrill’s (D-Montclair) reelection Tuesday.
“I am proud to receive Clean Water Action’s endorsement again in 2020,” Sherrill said. “Over the past 19 months, I have held 19 town halls, and our residents have made it very clear that we must unite in protecting our environment.”
Sherrill faces a challenge from lobbyist Rosemary Becchi, a former U.S. Senate Finance Committee Staffer who now runs Jersey First, a group advocating for lower taxes in the Garden State.
Clean Water Action backed Sherrill against Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-Morris Plains) in 2018.
“During my first term, I held a congressional hearing right here in our community on lead in the drinking water, and have stood up for clean water, clean air, and growing our clean energy economy,” Sherrill says. “I stand with Clean Water Action in working for a better, brighter future for all New Jerseyans.”
