U.S. Senator Cory Booker is New Jersey’s most popular politician, according to a Monmouth University poll released today. His approval numbers are at an all-time high.
The poll is mostly all good news for Booker, who has been in the Senate for five years. Monmouth University has been tracking Booker’s approvals since he took office in December 2013.
Booker has an approval rating of 54%-30% — up from 50%-31% last July. His approvals are 77%-9% among Democrats, 52%-33% among Independents, and 21%-64% among Repubicans – a relatively high number for a Democratic Senator. Booker’s approvals are similarly high among men and women, voters of all age groups – he’s at 60%-26% among voterrs from ages 18 to 34 — education and income levels, and race.
The only place where Booker’s approvals are even close is in South Jersey, 39%-36%.
“Senator Booker’s poll results demonstrate that his laser-like focus on the critical issues impacting our state is resonating with New Jersey residents, irrespective of party identification, geography or race,” said Mo Butler, Booker’s top political advisor.
