Quijano, Granados launch ads in Assembly bid

Assemblywoman Annette Quijano (D-Elizabeth) and candidate Sergio Granados released a pair of ads highlighting their backgrounds Wednesday.

The ads will be placed on digital platforms, according to a release.

The two Union County candidates are backed by the party but face a primary challenge from Eduardo Rodriguez, who served as planning and community development director in Elizabeth Mayor Chris Bollwage’s administration, and Walter Wimbush, a Roselle resident and youth mentor. The challengers are running under the “Union County Democrats Meeting the Moment” slogan.

Assemblyman Reginald Atkins (D-Roselle) decided not to seek re-election after Union Democrats had lost confidence in Atkins’ ability to win a line-free primary.

Both ads, each 15 seconds long, feature an English and a Spanish version. 

Transcript of Quijano’s ad:
“In my mom’s beauty shop, I learned to listen. At my abuela’s side, I learned to speak up. As your assemblywoman, I will never stop fighting to end wage theft and lower costs for New Jersey families.”

Transcript of Granados’ ad:
“When childcare wasn’t an option for my mom, she took me to work with her. I’m running for Assembly to make life better for families: funding childcare, universal pre-K, and making New Jersey more affordable for all.”
