The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 endorsed Newark mayor Ras Baraka for re-election to a second term.

“Mayor Baraka’s tenure has been marked by resurgence, strong growth, economic opportunity and new, vibrant development,” said Greg Lalevee, Business Manager of IUOE 825. “We wholeheartedly support Mayor Baraka’s bid for reelection and believe that Newark could not be in better hands.”

Lalevee praised Baraka’s record on responsible development, sustainability, infrastructure improvement and revitalization.

“He has a strong record of job creation and growth. As the largest city in New Jersey, Newark can set the tone for responsible development, construction and infrastructure that benefits all residents and makes the city and our state a better place to live and work,” Lalevee said.
