Local official backs Weber

By David Wildstein

Susan Poage, who became the first Democrat to win a Berkeley Heights Township Council seat in more than a decade, has endorsed Linda Weber for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District.

“I proudly endorse Linda Weber for Congress because she has the drive and ability to not only unseat Rep. Leonard Lance in November, but also to serve  CD7  as  someone  who  cares  about  and  understands  the causes of the people who live in the district,” said  Poage. “Linda has lived in the 7th District for years and has raised her family here. She has been a committed member of the community as a volunteer and involved with local politics. Linda went door-to-door in support of our local and state candidates, and she has tirelessly worked for progressive causes her entire life. Linda is smart and passionate and ready to lead our district in the right direction for the future.”

Weber has the organization lines in Somerset and Essex counties, while rival Tom Malinowski has them in Hunterdon, Warren and Morris.  Union County has not yet decided who will get the organization endorsement there.
