Beleaguered Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi has been defeated in her bid for re-election to the Parsippany Republican County Committee.
The final tally, including Vote by Mail numbers, has Betty Jane Panos beating Grossi by six votes, 35 to 29 to secure the seat in Parsippany’s 14th district.
In the same district, Panos’ husband, Leonard Pizza, defeated Nicholas Gross, the county clerk’s husband, by eight votes – 36 to 28.
Panos and Pizza will take office on Monday night when the Parsippany Republicans hold their organizational meeting. On Tuesday, the two may cast votes in a hotly contested race for Morris County Republican Chairman.
