Morris Democrats postpone county committee elections

By David Wildstein, March 25 2020 4:52 pm

Morris County Democrats are expected to announce later today that county committee elections have been postponed until June of 2021.

Republicans in Morris County have made the same call.

County committee members elected to a two-year term in June 2018 will remain in office until June 2021.

It’s not immediately clear whether the 2021 elections will be for one-year terms or longer, or if Morris will seek to eventually return to the practice of holding party elections in federal election years.

Democrats will also postpone their reorganization meeting, extending the term of county chairman Chip Robinson until next year.
