Brick Mayor John Ducey is the new Brick Democratic Municipal Chairman. He defeated councilman Jim Fozman by a vote of 49-8.
Ducey is enormously popular in Brick. He won 62% in 2013 and was re-elected in 2017 with 67%; Kim Guadagno carried Brick with 62%, which means Ducey ran 31 points ahead of the top of his ticket.
Brick is the second-largest municipality in New Jersey’s 3rd district, and Ducey’s election as party chairman could be helpful to Andy Kim, the former Obama White House aide who is challenging Rep. Tom MacArthur this year.
