Blood resigns Mendham post

By David Wildstein

One day after a controversial Facebook post comparing immigrants to raccoons, Mendham Township Deputy Mayor Rick Blood has resigned, effective at midnight.

“Illegals are everywhere,” Rick Blood wrote on the since-deleted Facebook post.  “We are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo and Hasid is a special interest group with special rights to a point where we don’t even recognize the country we were born and raised in.”

Blood later apologized for the posting, but he was ultimately unable to control the hullabaloo as criticism grew exponentially throughout the day.

  1. The question regarding what will Bucco do still remains. Does he agree with Bloods hateful opinions or just hire people with bigoted and racist opinions to advise him? One thing that is clear Hate Has No Home in Mendham, Hate Has No Home in NJ11th and Hate Has No Home in N.J.- Mr. Bucco needs to understand that endorsing the hate either explicitly or implicitly is unacceptable to his current constituents as well as the ones his exploratory committee is seeking to secure.
