Liza Acevedo, formerly a spokeswoman for Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin and presidential candidate Julián Castro, is headed to SKDKnickerbocker.
The New York native will join the public affairs firm’s DC bureau as a director.
“I am thrilled to join SKDKnickerbocker and begin working alongside an incredible team experienced in public policy and media,” she said. “I am thankful to have had an opportunity to work for Secretary Julián Castro and look forward to continuing our work for the remainder of the 2020 election and beyond.”
Before joining Coughlin’s team, Acevedo was Gov. Phil Murphy’s deputy press secretary.
Still earlier, she was director of communications for New York State Sen. Michael Gianaris and worked on the campaigns of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other New York Regional candidates.
