Michael Bloomberg has picked up the endorsement of the youngest delegate to Sunday’s Hunterdon County Democratic convention.

“I’m looking forward to nominating Michael Bloomberg,” said Meagan Warner, the president of the College Democrats of New Jersey.  “I believe he represents out best chance to beat Trump.”

Hunterdon will hold New Jersey’s first convention to award an organization line in the race for president.

Warner, a rising star in state Democratic politics, is a student at the College of New Jersey.  She was elected to the Lambertville Board of Education at age 19 and represents the city’s 3rd district on the Democratic County Committee.  She is the national College Democrats secretary.

“Gun safety is a major concern for me,” Warner told the New Jersey Globe.  “Michael Bloomberg has been the candidate who has invested himself in combating gun violence.”

Warner’s support gives Bloomberg a foothold into Lambertville, the Montclair of western New Jersey and the only Democratic stronghold in Hunterdon County.
