Michael Muller, one of New Jersey’s top political consultants and the architect of the massive Democratic majority in the State Assembly, has been named state director of Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign.
The hiring of Muller signals Bloomberg’s intention to seriously contest New Jersey’s delegates in the June primary.
The withdrawal of Cory Booker from the presidential race now opens up New Jersey, which had almost unanimously endorsed Booker’s national campaign.
Muller is the longtime head of the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee (DACC). He is the husband of Assemblywoman Carol Murphy (D-Mount Laurel).
