Vauss wins another term in Irvington

By Zach Blackburn, May 13 2026 12:58 am

Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss won a rematch against Paul Inman, a former councilman and now a perennial candidate, the New Jersey Globe projects.

As of 12:56 AM, Vauss leads 67%-33%.

The race was their third mayoral duel.

Vauss’s slate of incumbent councilmembers — Charnette Frederic, Tony Vauss Jr., and Darlene Brown — easily won re-election. Inman recruited a slate of his own: Ruth Baptiste, Durrell Watford, and Jude Ogu.

The mayor and his running mates won convincingly in 2022.
