Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss is the latest in what has become a long line of public officials to endorse the re-election campaign of Rep. Donald Payne Jr. (D-Newark) in New Jersey’s 10th district.

“Our team’s motto is Irvington Strong, and I know we have a true partner in Congressman Payne who fights for us every day in Washington to make our community even stronger,” said Mayor Vauss. “Congressman Payne delivered over $14 million in federal grants to Irvington last year alone, and I know we can count on him to stand up for our values and principles.”

Payne has received support from Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, East Orange Mayor and Hillside Mayor Dahlia Vertreese,

He’s also got the backing of Gov. Phil Murphy, U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker, and Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver.

“Mayor Vauss has been a wonderful leader for his community, spearheading crucial investments in infrastructure, economic development grants, and the revitalization of the township’s public recreation facilities,” said Payne.  “I am proud to receive his support and look forward to continuing to work with Mayor Vauss to deliver for the people of Irvington.”
