Gov. Phil Murphy has endorsed Marty Small, Sr. for re-election as mayor of Atlantic City.
“Mayor Marty Small has put forward an inclusive blueprint for Atlantic City that tackles longstanding challenges, lifts up working families, and diversifies the local economy,” said Murphy. “As we emerge from the pandemic, Mayor Small and his team are the right choice to build a more resilient Atlantic City and lead its continued revitalization.”
Small faces a Democratic primary challenge from former Assemblyman Thomas Foley, a retired Atlantic City firefighter and onetime freeholder.
Foley, an unabashed supporter of former President Donald Trump, is running off the line in the Democratic primary with the backing of the Atlantic City Democratic organization and their titular leader, former Council President Craig Callaway.
