Dinsmore announces series of endorsements

By Nikita Biryukov, January 11 2019 1:03 pm

Don Dinsmore, a primary challenger to Morris County’s Republican freeholder incumbents, on Friday announced a series of endorsements headlined by Woodcliff Lake Mayor Carlos Rendo, who was the Republican candidate for Lt. Gov. in 2017.

“I met Don during a campaign trip of New Jersey Republicans to Florida on behalf of Marco Rubio when he ran to win a U.S. Senate seat in 2016. I was impressed with Don’s work ethic, intellect and dedication to conservative values,” Rendo said. “Don was a help to Kim Guadagno and myself in 2017. He will be an asset for Morris County.”

State Young Republican chairman Giancarlo Ghione, Wharton Mayor and former Morris Freeholder Bill Chegwidden and former Morris Freeholder Margeret Nordstrom were among the other endorsements announced by Dinsmore Friday.

The challenger’s announcement comes hours after the three incumbent freeholders released a list of more than 100 endorsements by local mayors and municipal legislators.
