Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin will defeat Republican Joseph Wolak to win Middlsex County’s clerkship, the New Jersey Globe projects.
Incumbent Democratic Freeholders Leslie Koppel and Charles Tomaro will beat Republican challengers John Masculin and Andrew Politi.
The victories are no surprise. Middlesex is one of the most Democratic counties in the state. There are 152,714 fewer Republicans than Democrats there.
Pinkin’s taking the county office will trigger a special election to fill her Assembly seat.
