College GOP, Dems tell Vaughn to resign

By David Wildstein, May 04 2020 12:19 am

In a bi-partisan joint statement, the leaders of the College Republicans and College Democrats have condemned Trenton Councilwoman Robin Vaughn for making homophobic statements on a city council call that was supposed to be a briefing on COVID-19.

“Councilwoman Vaughn’s words are a gross example of homophobia, and we denounce her words as such,” said College Republicans state chairman Ben Yaskulka and College Democrats president David McMillan.  “It is unacceptable for anyone in a position of power to make these reprehensible comments towards a colleague, especially during a conference.”

Yaskulka and McMillan called Vaughn’s tirade, aimed at openly gay Trenton Mayor, despicable.

“The integrity of the Trenton City Council has been compromised, and it cannot be restored until Councilwoman Vaughn resigns.”
