Ciattarelli tells Vaughn to resign

By David Wildstein, May 04 2020 10:06 am

Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli has called on embattled Trenton Councilwoman Robin Vaughn to resign.

“Robin Vaughn’s recent comments are egregious and reckless. I join others in condemning them and calling for her immediate removal from elected office,” said Ciattarelli.  “She is profoundly embarrassing to Trenton and the State of New Jersey.”

Ciattarelli represented part of Mercer County in the New Jersey State Assembly before giving up his seat to seek the Republican nomination for governor in 2017.

He is the first announced candidate to challenge Gov. Phil Murphy next year.

Murphy and U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker called for Vaughn’s resignation last night.
