The Burlington County Democratic Committee has a list of candidate names from the eighth legislative district ready to be looked at by its screening committee, State Sen. Troy Singleton (D-Delran) told the New Jersey Globe Thursday.
“This past Friday was the close of resumes and letters of intent for individuals who wanted to run,” Singleton said. “So, now that we have the pool of folks who have expressed interest, the chairman’s going to put together a screening committee, as we have done in the past, to make recommendations to the full county committee on who the selections will be.”
Singleton said he was not sure when exactly the screening committee would meet to make its recommendation, and he declined to share the names of those who had put their names in for the county line because that information had not yet been shared with Burlington’s Democratic County Committee members.
“I can tell you all of that, but the county committee doesn’t know yet, so it would be premature, but we will make sure that that notification goes out to our members of the county committee so they know who’s up for consideration,” Singleton said.
